My Jessie J Magic Moments For This Week

I thought I would do a post on the moments in Jessie's career so far that connect with me this week! I have to say I so wish they would professionaly record everything that she does live because honestly she sounds so awesome live. She does'nt need to be in the studio! I would be lying though if I did'nt say her featuring on Daley's new single has'nt had an impact on me this week our first track is a studio track.

Remember Me by Daley ft Jessie J

Our second clip I'm going to choose is one from the Cancer Trust Appeal and its a song Jess does'nt do very often live but she included when she appeared at the Royal Albert Hall in London for this
gig!

Meet The Band

I thought we might take a close look this week at Jessie's amazing band and the respect they have for each other! This is a part of what makes Jessie's stage show so awesome. The charisma that is Jessie J and the connection she makes with people whether it be her band members or fans in the crowd.

We will start off with Hannah Vasanth a super talented lady on keyboards. Who loves her Jazz! Hannah has performed on tour with Rihanna and Anastacia but she is now tied to the Jessie J show and you can see the respect and love both her and Jess have for each other!
Keyboard Player, Producer and Songwriter Hannah Vasanth  Born to South Indian parents, raised  in Berlin. She attended an American school before moving to London.Where she completed her Bachelors in Jazz Performance at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music

Second up is the bass played Phil Simmonds, who Jessie has a lot of fun with on stage. Phil comes across as the larrakin in the band! Him and Jessies playing around together gives the whole show a great fun feeling!

On lead guitar is the other sidekick Lewie Allen. Him and Jess have a great connection, musically and you often get a feeling there is more than music in there eyes! Lol!

Then we have Ginger Hamilton, the drummer boy. Gee he certainly gives those drums a heavy beat. He looks a strong guy and in the drum solo to Do It Like A Dude, you will see what I mean.

Lastly we come to the backup singers Cherise Voncelle and Phebe Edwards. Cherri V as she is known was support for Jess early in her concert appearances and they actually go back to the early days together. When Jess was performing in Soul Deep. Cherri actually has a new EP coming out this week. Its titled Good Mourning Madame Rouge.

Phebe Edwards is also quite a talent and has performed with James Brown just before his passing and I thought we would post her singing Respect which is what all these band members seem to have for each other. On and off stage! When it come to choosing a band intro. It was a difficult choice but in the end I went with the jazzy Cancer Trust one over the fun Singapore Mama Knows Best! The video quality is not as good on the cancer trust but I loved the jazz feel to it! You may want to skip to the bottom of the page and watch the fun Singapore clip! Heaps better quality!  Both are super! Anyway here is Jessie Jazzhands with her band intro! Meet the Band!

Jessie J Singing with Others

I thought we would check out Jessie J performing with other artists this week. The UK Voice gave her plenty of opportunities so we will have a look at her performances with Will I Am, Danny O'donoghue and Tom Jones also the performance of Nobody's Perfect with Team Jessie member Vince Kidd. She really gave the performance with Vince her best shot. You know many thought she was showing off but I really believed she was trying to give it her best in wanting her new friend and team member Vince to win. It was probably not the right choice of song but hey, Nobody's Perfect and I really believe her heart was with Vince and even Vince has said it was a dream come true to sing with Jessie.

Our next clip is her hit with James Morrison on his compostion, Up. I think even though this has only been a success in the UK. There is hit potential for other parts of the globe with this! The two of them sound great together! In my opinion this is where Jessie has the edge on other artists. I think James is limited to the ballad side of music but as Jessie keeps saying her music is eclectic and I think she can produce super quality ballads, pop, jazz, rhythm and blues or dance music. What ever she chooses.

For our final clips this week I want to diverse to the unreleased and tv show side of Jess's career so far. Love the Knock on Wood clip from the Diva's Show with Jennifer Hudson and I have read this again about people not liking her endings because they felt she was trying to impress. Well in my opinion this is not so. She is being herself. She does this sort of ending all the time. She just let's herself go and what you see and hear is the end result and I love it. I just hope she keeps doing it and does'nt change. I am sure she won't!
We will take a look at a younger Jess performing with Amplify Dot on Sweetest Feeling. To end it  we will check out Mockingbird by her and her close friend from the Voice Tom Jones. You can see how much they admire each other here and in the last clip of I Gotta Feeling, the first time Tom performed with Jessie. I always smile at the look of amazement on Tom's face with Jessies vocals. The woooh! look on his face! He is impressed!

Jessica Cornish

I thought for this weeks Jessica Cornish magic. We might take a look at some of her own uploaded videos! One of my favorites would have to be singing Domino while on holidays in Thailand! Just love how its all so natural. Just young girls having fun!

Domino on Holiday in Thailand

She obviously loved listening to Whitney Houston as a child. There is a couple of Whitney covers that she has uploaded so I thought we might have a listen to I Have Nothing!

I think Big White Room that she does in her LA bathroom would be another great piece of Jessie J magic we can take a look at! A song she wrote when she was seventeen about a childhood experience in the Great Ormond Street Hospital. She was eleven at the time. Jessie recalling the incident in an interview. I woke up in the middle of the night to see this little boy in an adjacent bed praying, and my mother explaining that he was having an operation the next day and was asking God to save him. Jessie continued: "He died the next day so I said to my mum 'but God didn't save him'. I was so angry and it really confused me. It had a strong effect on her so she put the experience into a song!
